iPhone launch being
May 14
2007
|
|
Apple's IPhone is just about
to be released, and here's the lo-down on some of the features:
 | EDGE technology for internet browsing |
 | The phone is .46 inches thick, 4.5 inches high
and 2.4 inches wide |
 | It is available for $500 dollars (4 GB) and $600 (8 GB) |
 | It has a touch screen QWERTY keyboard, if that's anything new |
 | Listen to your music library similarly to IPod |
 | A 2.0 megapixel camera is included |
Ok, this is dandy and all. But there is a serious
question to be asked: Is this what all the fuss was about? For Godsake,
I could've put all of this money in the bank last year, and would've
been a millionaire by now. Ofcourse, I get paid abnormal interest rates
because of my tremendous banking record.

Shah Rukh Khan highest tax payer amongst
the stars
May 13

|
Shah
Rukh
Khan is the highest tax payer this year* from Bollywood's biggest
stars in terms of endorsements. Shahrukh has paid 2.48 crore rupees as
service tax. Not quite able to stay put with King Khan are Amitabh
Bachchan (1.53 crore rupees), Hrithik
Roshan (1.04 crore rupees) and 1.03 crore rupees for Rani Mukherjee.
That's a lot of money gone back to the government. Now only if the
government will use for things which be beneficial to the public, such
as feeding Shilpa Shetty some meat.
*Another
source reported Hrithik Roshan as this year's highest tax
payer with 2.45 crore rupees. I don't know who to trust, they are both
good friends and I respect them with my dear life.

Magic of Andaaz Apna Apna to return at suggestion of
Salim
May 12

Ah, Who can forget the Raj
Kumar Santoshi classic 'Andaz Apna Apna', one of the greatest comedy
films to ever come out of the India. From the evergreen SP Bala
classics, "Do Mastane Chale Zindagi bananay" and "Yeh Raat aur yeh Doori"
to the tremendous acting of Aamir Khan, the film is a true cult classic.
Apparently, during a recent friendly get-together between the Khans, Salim (father of Salman) pointed out the success and brilliance of
the duo when they teamed up in AAA. Aamir agreed with Salim and requested him to
start writing the script of a sequel of sorts to the first film, or a
similar film nonetheless. It appears as if work on the screenplay is
underway. Let's just pray that SP Bala will make a return as the voice
of Salman Khan and more importantly, Hindi cinema. |
Kareena recieved Samita Patel Award in
2006 for contribution to cinema

This
is as ridiculous as it gets. This is the equivalent of Himesh Reshammiya
winning the "Best Western Classical Composer" award by the Paris Music &
Arts Society. In other words, it's senseless. Kareena Kapoor has
recieved the Samita Patel Award for her contribution to hindi cinema.
And this was in 2006, before her most notable contribution, her dancing
in "It's Rocking". If the award goes for the actress who has promoted
tight jeans better than anyone else in the last decade, no doubt this
award should go to Kareena. But I have a gut feeling these are not the
'contributions' which were taken into criteria. By the way, was there a
criteria at all? It is awards like this which give hope to people like
Mallika Sherawat that they too can get a honorary doctorate in theatre
and performance from a reputed University in the future.

Kareena and Karishma drink some Koffee
May 10

Here is Shahid, Karisma and
Kareena Kapoor
on Koffee with Karan (a small preview of the full show).
Karan: You take up for Shahid a lot, is that true?
Karishma:
Yes I do, don't I? (looking at Shahid)
Shahid:
Yes.
Karan: In what way, what does he do ...that he
needs taking up for?
Karishma: Well, I mean generally, when they are
fighting with each other. I am always caught in the middle of it... and if I really feel that Shahid is right then I really fire Bebo.
Karan: You do?.
Karishma:
Yeah, of course.
Karan: They are quite a troublesome couple that
way … vis-a-vis you ..
Karishma:
Yeah they are, but I give them a lot
of trouble as well..
Karan:
Yeah, what kind of trouble do you give them
..
Karishma: Well …
Kareena:
Advice
Karishma:
Yeah, advice.
Karan:
Initially, when you were told about Shahid, what was your
comment .. do you remember?
Karishma: Ahhh...I was like ...who is this guy? I mean from where have you found him from ..I mean,
actually like any elder sister I was a bit weary ..I think any elder
sister would feel like that!
Karan: Very protective.
Karishma: Yes, very protective about her ..And
when I met Shahid...I think our first two - three meetings were very
stiff. I was like Hello, hi...how are you ..
Shahid: I
was very scared of her!
Karan:
You were scared of here?
Karishma:
I know its very strange, but he keeps
telling me this ..
Shahid: Her chin was always up whenever she met me...
Karan: You felt she was judging you whenever she
met you...
Kareena:
But that Lolo’s nature!
Shahid: I found her strict, and I was like...‘’Okay .. I hope she like me ‘’
Karishma:
I think we have a really struck a great friendship...Shahid and
I,every time he calls me .. ‘’ Can you advise me on this?'’ or I call
him: ‘’Shahid can you help me out with this .. what do you feel?'’ ..I
think we have become really good friends now.
Karan: That’s fantastic.
So you guys have lot of fun with each other?
Karishma:
O yes.
You could've read the whole interview or you can just read my
interpretation:
Karishma: As a older sister, I am very curious of who my sister
sleeps with.
Shahid: Yeah, she was very mean before, but now she's kinda
cool.
Kareena: Bitch.

Ayesha looking like Dragon Ball Z reject

Here's a new addition to our
pure and unadulterated gallery of pictures,
Ayesha Takia looking like a
Japanese anime character on a Mega Mass 2000-based diet. It seems as if
she has taken hair styling advice from a curtain designer rather than a
hairstylist. Ayesha, you are cute and all, but maybe you should do things
which suit your spherical face, like wearing a Darth Vader mask. |
