Harris Jayaraj copies A.R. Rahman June 08 2007

Harris Jayaraj this, Harris Jayaraj that. The people down south (Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Florida) have been raving that Harris Jayaraj is the future of music in India, atleast as far as the south is concerned. "The best thing to come since AR Rahman" says one source. With the hit blockbuster soundtrack "Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein" already under his wings as far as hindi cinema is concerned, there is no doubting his ability and talent.

However, Jayaraj has made some mistakes which will always come back to haunt him. Among many composers, AR Rahman is one of the composers whose work has been copied by Jayaraj. As talented as he is, he really didn't need to do this. It's almost like Bill Clinton's story: He was the best president them Americans had ever seen, but in the end, he will always be remembered for the bad things he did, like not flushing the toilet on the last day of his second term.

Amisha Patel loses weight June 08 2007

Amisha Patel can be seen in her new slim and trim look, thanks to her vigirous excercise routine. Check out the before and after pictures of Ms. Patel, she sure is looking fizzled and gizzled. Amisha's previous claim to fame was...hmmm, the area below her neck and above her belly button: her wings! Or whats on the other side anyways.

The only thing Amisha will achieve from this weight loss we reckon is that she wont be considered short, compact and busty anymore. Now she is short, compact and 'change the channel' Check out her latest look by clicking on the link below.

Hamesh on Santa & Banta June 07 2007

Himesh Reshammiya was seen on Zoom's parody news show Santa & Banta a while back. During the show, Himesh was called "the living legend", "a musical genius" among other things. It was a genuine case of ask-and-get. Himesh was questioned about pretty much every controversy he's been a part of. Apparently, Reshammiya has hired a publicity manager, as he has turned very wise in terms of handling such situations. "Mujhe mauf kardo, meinay nahi kiya", "I'll just like to say, that God Bless You. Whoever you are and whatever you say about me" among other intelligent things. He even went on to say that Sonu Nigham was the best singer in the country and a good person, regardless of what he says about Himesh. The public is stupid enough to listen to this guy's music, but I hope they arent dumb enough to fall into his sweet talk.

A.R. Rahman is the best selling artist in the history of the world June 04 2007

For those of haven't heard this before, it does come as a total surprise. But when you look deeply into the facts, it does seem possible. Or it maybe a possibility in the near future. Apparently, according to the BBC, AR Rahman has sold over 200 million albums (CDs), add to that the 300 million cassettes he has sold and you have the best selling artist in the history of mankind. But how accurate and reliable are the numbers?

'Rahman is a recipient of the Padma Shri and is known around the world as the "Mozart from Madras". He has sold more than 100 million records world-wide, and sold over 200 million cassettes, making him arguably the world's all time top-selling recording artist.'
- Universal Music India

Ok, so maybe the BBC stats and UMI stats dont exactly mix up, but that's what you get when your a middle class citizen of society: inaccurate statistics. For rich people like me, there's wikipedia.

Amitabh Bachchan looking ugly; angry with Shahrukh Khan June 01 2007

"I am ugly, and your darker than hershey chocolate bar, but one day we'll make it big"

Before I say anything else, just look at this picture, print it and then burn it so no can see it ever again.

On to the real news: the people at Zoom TV network can be considered stupid, but I didn't know they were downright retarded. In one of their recent gossip-related TV shows (there's like 18 of them everyday), Zoom ran a feature on the ongoing tension between Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. A 5 minute feature on why these two are angry with each other was run with pure, natural un-adulterated bullshit. Apparently, Shah Rukh is angry that Amitabh Bachchan has used his sources in order to get Abhishek roles which were first offered to Khan and were later reprieved. The thing which makes the people at Zoom seem idiotic is that after they ran this feature, they immediately used the phone line to contact the director of a future Shah Rukh Khan - Amitabh Bachchan double starrer and asked him if there indeed was a fued between the two. The director responded by saying "nonsense, whoever says this is saying absolutely nonsense. There is no such thing." The tv host than thanked him and without bottomlining the issue, went to the next news story. I mean, who writes and produces such things? You run a five minute objective video on a story, take a interview, get your whole story proven wrong...all within the same time span. What the people at Zoom TV need are the services of Mr. Kauman Sains, the leading tv producer in the United States.
